About

This business specializes in hydro-gumming and low-pressure abrasive cleaning (sandblasting) for delicate exterior surfaces. They are experts in removing carbon deposits from historic stone buildings and cleaning wooden exterior features.

About Aéro-Décap Lyon

Based in the 7th arrondissement, Aéro-Décap Lyon provides precision exterior surface restoration using low-pressure abrasive cleaning and hydro-gumming techniques. Rather than relying on aggressive high-pressure washing that can erode surfaces, they specialize in gentle, controlled blasting methods designed to preserve the structural integrity of sensitive building materials.

Property owners in Lyon can turn to their team for targeted exterior maintenance, including removing heavy carbon crust and atmospheric pollution from regional limestone facades. They also clean weathered exterior timber, exposed brickwork, and delicate architectural details found across the city's historic and residential districts.

When planning an exterior restoration project in Lyon, look for a specialist equipped to tailor pressure levels and abrasive media to your specific building material. Consultations can be scheduled at their Rue du Repos workshop from Monday through Friday between 09:00 and 17:30.

Frequently Asked Questions

How does hydro-gumming differ from standard high-pressure power washing?

Hydro-gumming combines water, low air pressure, and fine natural abrasives to lift grime without gouging or chipping vulnerable surfaces. This makes it far safer than high-pressure washing for older masonry, soft stone, and wood.

Can this method clean historic stone without damaging the original facade?

Yes, low-pressure micro-abrasive cleaning is specifically designed to eliminate dark pollution crusts from porous heritage stonework without stripping the stone's natural protective patina. The technician regulates the pressure to match the exact hardness of the substrate.

Do I need special permits to clean a historic building facade in Lyon?

If your property is situated within a protected heritage zone or requires public sidewalk scaffolding, municipal authorizations from local planning authorities are typically necessary. A professional exterior cleaning service can help determine the technical requirements before work begins.
